Importance of Note-Taking in Consecutive Interpreting (English <> Arabic)

During this workshop, you will learn that note-taking plays an important role in supporting the interpreter’s memory. 

Our focus will be on effective note-taking skills, strategies and the techniques to create an easy to use and reliable system.

We will discuss the fundamentals of note-taking, and the most challenging aspects of consecutive interpreting.

• Sharpening your listening
• Improving your renditions
• The best note-taking method that fits your learning style
• Making your notes brief, selective, reliable, and user-friendly

About the presenter:

Zenab Khouder

Certified court Interpreter who has proudly served our Arabic community for 20 years as an Interpreter and Translator. Seeing a great need for the training of Interpreters, I began serving as a Coach and Trainer in several national and international institutes.

• 2000: Started as an approved court interpreter in Austin Texas
• 2002: Studied interpreting and translation in Austin, community college (TX)
• 2016: Provisionally qualified Superior Court of California
• 2017: Language Skilled U.S.D.C (Federal Court, CA)
• 2017: CCHI Core Certified Health Care Interpreter (CA)
• 2019: Certified by the State of Illinois Supreme Court
• 2019: Started her own YouTube training channel
• 2019: Community Interpreter –Trainer at Orange County Department of Education
• 2020: Certified by the State of Arizona Supreme Court (AZ-16084 /Feb 2020)
• 2020: CHIA’s Interpreter of the year
• 2020: ATA Dynamo Award
• 2020: Co. Instructor at Transinterpreting
• 2020 Guest Trainer at Prince Sultan University (TAD)
