You love your work. But does it love you(r) back? All too often, long hours at our desks lead to intermittent or even chronic tightness and pain. Luckily, there is a lot you can do about it – and it doesn’t need to be expensive or complicated.
In this session, we’ll be delving into the whys and wherefores of that discomfort and – more importantly – what you can do about it.
There will be a brief presentation followed by a demonstration of simple movements accessible to all, so please wear comfortable clothing, bring your questions for the final Q&A and yes, you can leave your camera off!
Come prepared to move a little, learn a lot and feel better afterwards!
Eva Stabenow, MA, CT, NCPT is used to wearing two hats – one as a DE<>EN translator specializing in medicine, digital health and wellness, and the other as a passionate and astute teacher of movement at Sunroom Pilates. After over a decade at her desk had resulted in chronic shoulder, neck and wrist pain, she finally found relief through healthy movement in the form of Pilates. Already an experienced yoga teacher, she realized other translators and interpreters could also be helped out of pain and frustration and decided to seek comprehensive, physical therapy-based Pilates training. Since then, she has delighted in teaching people from all walks of life – but especially her colleagues – how to heal their bodies through movement and get sustainably fit in the process, teaching both online and in-person classes and private sessions. She is a regular presenter at translators’ events such as ATA conferences, where she also leads the morning “Mindful Movement” sessions. You can find her online at sunroompilates.com and follow her on social media under that name.
