Translation and Interpretation Technology: The Basics and Beyond
When it comes to the technology we use as language professionals, we should always be intentional in our choices. What are the basics? What other hardware and software can be used to enhance our productivity and improve our health? In this presentation, we will explore the answers to these questions and will encourage attendees to take stock of what they already have and what they may want to add to their workstations.
ABOUT OUR PRESENTER:
Nora Díaz earned a B.A. in Language Teaching and Translation from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua in 1990, and combined her work as a language teacher and teacher trainer with translation and interpreting for a number of years, before deciding to work as a translator and conference interpreter full time. Nora enjoys using technology and finding ways to increase productivity, which combined with her love of teaching, has led her to share what she has learned through articles, webinars and workshops. Nora is a certified RWS trainer and currently serves on the board of the Organización Mexicana de Traductores and is the Chair of the American Translators Association Professional Development Committee. She is also one of the co-organizers of the Innovation in Translation Summit and the Innovation in Interpreting Summit. She has recently co-authored a book called The Translator’s Tool Box.
